4LNS is actively seeking a certified IT professional to join our rapidly growing team.  The Server/Systems Administrator is part of an integrated Customer Support team responsible for providing the ARMY IT Portfolio of Services to organizations and users serviced by the Network Enterprise Center – Kwajalein (NEC-KA).  The NEC-KA is located on an Army Garrison in the Republic of the Marshall Islands.  This position reports to the Enterprise Services Customer Support Manager.

Responsibilities
  • - Perform work in a complex information technology (IT) Army Enterprise environment involving NEC-KA and Regional Cyber Center Pacific (RCC-P) security assets with distributed access control/ limited permission sets for a government-owned, contractor-operated local Network Enterprise Center (NEC) that is approximately 2,500 miles from the supporting Regional NEC
  • - Facilitate close coordination, communication and partnership with NEC-KA teammates, the Regional NEC–Hawaii and RCCP
  • - Provide exceptional customer support for internal customers and end-users of the    NEC-KA
  • - Manage daily activities of Army Enterprise system administration for the NEC-KA
  • - Document work performed, troubleshooting steps and customer communications in the Remedy ticketing system
  • - Manage objects within the Microsoft Active Directory Organizational Unit structure, to include but not limited to, Group Policy management and configuration, management of computer/server objects, and assigning local roles and permissions
  • - Perform administration and maintenance on Microsoft Windows server platforms, Virtual Machine software (VMWare), various Storage Area Networks (SAN), Cisco Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) platform servers, Cisco Unified Communications Manager (UCM), Cisco Unity Unified Messaging and supported subsystems
  • - Perform operations and maintenance of Assured Services Session initiation Protocol (AS-SIP) VoIP Session Border Controller systems and voice mail systems including mailbox administration, application configuration, and provisioning.
  • - Test, maintain and update servers with security updates, operating system service packs, patches, application update patches and DISA security technical implementation guides (STIG).  Validate compliance with ACAS scans. Mitigate findings and coordinate with Cybersecurity team to create/maintain a plan of action and milestones (POA&M) and Enterprise Mission Assurance Support Service (eMASS) entries
  • - Evaluate enterprise systems hardware and software deficiencies and provide recommendations to correct deficiencies
  • - Perform system backups for each file, print, and common user applications server
  • - Manage ticket queue and escalate unresolved issues in a timely fashion
  • - Report significant issues daily, communicate all outages or hazardous conditions per NEC-KA, RCCP, and USAG-KA reporting requirements
  • - Organize and support projects that improve systems and server performance
  • - Proactively monitor, plan and implement Cyber Task Orders
  • - Create and maintain detailed and accurate Tactics, Techniques, and Procedures (TTP)
  • - Create and utilize scripts with PowerShell to automate routing system and user management tasks
  • - Create, maintain and delete user account in accordance with Army Enterprise Standards
Qualifications

Education and Certifications

  • - Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent and 6-10 years relevant experience
  • - Additional training, certification, and/or years of experience may be substituted in lieu of a degree
  • - Experience and knowledge in VMWare ESXI
  • - Experience with SCCM
  • - Must possess and maintain DoD 8570.01 IAT Level II certification
  • - Current Microsoft server certification required: Microsoft Azure Administrator Associate Certification (AZ-104) preferred

Security Clearance/Background

  • - Position requires that candidate possess a Top-Secret security clearance to access classified information. Inability to maintain a security clearance will result in candidate being ineligible for this position
  • - US Citizenship is typically required for a security clearance

Additional Qualifications

  • - Ability to relocate and reside at the U.S. Army Garrison – Kwajalein Atoll in the Republic of the Marshall Islands (USAG-KA).  You must meet current and future vaccination requirements for infectious diseases such as COVID-19 to enter the Republic of the Marshall Islands
  • - Must possess a valid U.S. passport
  • - Pre-employment health screening is required due to remote location and limited medical and dental capabilities on the island
  • - Ability to ride a bicycle or walk at least 2 miles to/from work daily. There are no personally owned vehicles allowed on USAG-KA. Transportation is primarily by bicycle.
  • - Ability to travel by plane or small sea going vessel between working locations.
  • - May be required to work overtime
  • - Rotational call back and emergency duty are requirements of this position
