4LNS is actively seeking a certified IT professional to join our rapidly growing team. The Desktop Support Specialist - Senior is part of an integrated Customer Support team responsible for providing the ARMY IT Portfolio of Services to organizations and users serviced by the Network Enterprise Center – Kwajalein (NEC-KA). The Desktop Support Specialist is responsible for providing outstanding end-user service and Tier 2 troubleshooting support for the NEC-KA. The NEC-KA is located on an Army Garrison in the Republic of the Marshall Islands. This position reports to the Enterprise Services Customer Support Manager.
- - Provide outstanding customer service as local touch labor for the NEC-Kwajalein
- - Customer support/ touch labor includes, but is not limited to installation, repair, troubleshooting, and configuring authorized end-user devices like computers, printers, laptops, scanners, and other hardware
- - Document all trouble-shooting steps, work performed, and customer communications in the Remedy ticketing system
- - Other duties as assigned
- - This position reports to the Enterprise Services Customer Support Manager
Minimum Qualifications:
- - 6 years' experience as a computer technician or in another relevant IT support role
- - Must possess and maintain DoD 8570.01 IAT Level II certification.
- - Security + CE or CISSP preferred.
- - Must possess and maintain Microsoft 365 Certified: Modern Desktop Administrator Associate or higher-level Microsoft certification.
- - Associate’s degree in Information Technology, or another related field preferred.
- - Additional training, certification, or relevant experience will be considered in lieu of a degree.
Security Clearance/Background
- - Position requires that candidate possess a SECRET security clearance in order to access classified information. Inability to maintain a security clearance will result in candidate being ineligible for this position.
- - US Citizenship is typically required for a security clearance.
Additional Qualifications:
- - Ability to relocate and reside at the U.S. Army Garrison – Kwajalein Atoll in the Republic of the Marshall Islands (USAG-KA). You must meet current and future vaccination requirements for infectious diseases such as COVID-19 to enter the Republic of the Marshall Islands.
- - Must possess a valid U.S. passport.
- - Pre-employment health screening is required due to remote location and limited medical and dental capabilities on the island.
- - Ability to ride a bicycle or walk at least 2 miles to/from work daily. There are no personally owned vehicles allowed on USAG-KA. Transportation is primarily by bicycle.
- - Work may involve sitting or standing for extended periods of time. Must be able to lift 30lbs to waist height.
- - Ability to travel by plane or small sea going vessel between working locations.
- - May be required to work overtime.
- - Rotational call back and emergency duty are requirements of this position.
